Urgent - Timmy needs a home asap

Dear friends,

 

It's really urgent to find a home for Timmy as the new cat will be coming in a couple of days. I didn't have the heart to tell this new boy to wait a few more days in the street, limping with one of his legs twisted (most likely broken) and untreated, and he has to run for his life all the time from stray dogs. I've heard that even the stray cats there don't want to be friends with him.

 

Though I hate to see Timmy sacrificed there is no other way. He will have to move out of his 'private room' and into the adoption room. I can't imagine how mad he will be - and stressed. The other alternative will be to move him to a bathroom in my sister's home. This is absolutely not ideal as he will be all alone in that little cubicle, behind a closed door. Although he lives in a cage now he is right in the 'heart' of the shelter. He sees us and the other cats and all our activities in the safety of his cage. If he feels like it he can come down for a walk and hisses at those who get too close. I feel so sorry for Timmy.

 

Timmy might not be too cute and he's 'mature' but he's a very sweet and friendly cat. He doesn't like cats that's true, but he LIKES HUMANS. He will fit into a family with no problem. I believe he likes children. Unfortunately that's the reason why he's dumped - he slept with the baby and his owner didn't like it.

 

Healthwise he just had a full blood test - all results were normal. He's FIV/FeLV negative. He also had a dental procedure and his rotten teeth removed. There are not many left to be worried about now. He used to have a slight limp. The vet checked him and said his knee was thickened, looked like an old injury. Now he's taking a supplement for this and he is not limping anymore. The supplement is a powder which we mix into his food, he doesn't have a problem with it at all.

 

In short, Timmy is all ready to go to a home and he's been waiting for a while. It wasn't urgent before, NOW IT IS!
